Humility : Lesson 1

There is no easy way to have humility. It always comes at a price. For me, it has come one failure or hardship after another. Being laid off, getting fired for unknown reasons, a bout with mental illnesses. All of these events brought me back to my knees and more importantly back to God. Each etched in my mind reasons why I worship the one and only true God. As I go through times of spiritual drought, these memories paint a clear picture of what a great God I serve. As frustrating as these spiritual droughts are, they remind me to be humble. They remind me of the humility that Jesus Christ had as He was beaten and hung on a cross. Jesus left heaven to live a perfect life on earth only to die a horrible death. Each day I learn the hard lesson of humility, but it was nothing compared to that which Christ displayed..
